As an experienced director, I have a strong interest in the vibrant and challenging world of television production. My particular focus centres on reality and documentary programming. This is fuelled by my deep-down passion for capturing real-life stories and human experiences. This is something I have honed over two decades creating films for private individuals, charities and commercial partners.
Television is a medium that offers me the potential to explore the diverse tapestry of life, without the demands of an underlying commercial message. It enables me to bring to light the extraordinary in the ordinary, and liberate the truth from obscurity in our everyday lives. Over the last few years, I have worked with colleagues to develop a number of projects for both traditional broadcasters and streaming platforms.
For me, authenticity and relevance provide the cornerstone of great broadcast programming. My many years of corporate and commercial filmmaking have been useful in honing my attention to ‘purpose’. I think purpose is the essential starting point for any great programme making. It fosters a level of clarity and ideas that inspire a strong connection with your broadcast audience.
So whether it's bringing to life the everyday struggles of ordinary people or uncovering the hidden truths of our world, I am looking to develop partnerships to create new and exciting television content. I believe content should not only entertain, but also enrich and enlighten. Indeed I am convinced good programmes have the power to spark conversations that can change the world.
